Preliminary applications
Before and at the beginning of the hearing, it is possible to make specific applications to the Tribunal. They are called "preliminary applications". Your application must mention:
The parties' names
Your file number
The reasons of your application
What your wish to obtain
In theory, this type of application must be sent in writing to the Tribunal.
Some examples of preliminary applications:
You contest the decision of an agency which has ceased to pay you periodic financial assistance. While waiting for the hearing, you can ask the Tribunal to suspend the Agency's decision until the end of the hearing, to allow you to receive the financial assistance that was refused.
You can ask the Tribunal to change the date of your hearing if it is impossible for you to be present for serious reasons.
